Before-and-after school activities
As a result of the challenges and restrictions in place to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, we are offering a limited after-school BookEnds program only. The description below describes the full program, which we hope to return to when pandemic conditions allow.
We offer an exciting array of dynamic and interdisciplinary activities, both after-school and during extended holiday breaks. Classes are led by our educators and outside facilitators such as Thynkering, Bricks4Kids and Challenge Island. Offerings change every 10-13 weeks. Selections may include:
- Garden to Table cooking
- Drama Club
- Microbit programming
- Chess Club
- Song writing
- Graphic Design
"BookEnds", our after school care program, runs from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Adventure Camps are available during parent–teacher conferences and extended school breaks.
Full Enrichment Package
This package includes 5 days of first choice Enrichment classes, 4 days of Mini-Adventures during conferences, and 20 days of Adventure camps during school breaks. Families who choose the year long package will be able to use early enrollment, so students can choose all their preferred classes before they fill up. If you are a prepaid full year BookEnds family we ask that you sign your student up for a class each day of the week (even if they will not regularly attend.) If your child(ren) needs to "drop-in" to BookEnds on a particular day that you have not pre-selected for, then we will place her/him in an age-appropriate enrichment class.
Partial Enrichment Package
This package includes 3 days of enrichment classes and 2 days of drop-in play during the week, all year long. It does not include Adventures or camps. This gives parents full year after school care options with flexibility to change to accommodate sports and other events.
Single Enrichment Classes
Students may enroll each session in single enrichment classes, which run about 10-13 weeks. At the beginning of each new BookEnds Session, families are sent a registration form to enroll their child in an enrichment class. Each class is $45, families will be charged for the whole session of that particular enrichment class, not by actual class attendance. Prices for each class are displayed on the Registration form, and may vary depending on holidays and days school is not in session. Families will be charged at the end of the month, after registering, by invoice from accounting.
Drop-in students will be doing homework, reading, playing, or quiet activities only in the meeting room, not attending an enrichment class. Drop-in’s are charged $7.50 at 4pm and $7.50 every 30 minutes after until 6pm.
Middle School clubs are offered from 4:00pm to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. Offerings change each fall and spring.
Selections may include:
- Magic & Mystery
- Dungeons and Dragons
- Gender & Sexuality Alliance
- Crochet and Chat
- Students for Change
There is no additional charge for these activities.
