After school activities

We offer an exciting array of dynamic and interdisciplinary activities, both after-school and during extended holiday breaks. BookEnds Activities are led by Alta Vista School specialists educators and classroom teachers. We also partner with various organizations including Culinary Artistas, Rabbit Hole Theater, Kodely, Aventuras, and more.  BookEnds offerings change three times a year, giving students ample choice and opportunities to explore.

BookEnds

"BookEnds," our after-school enrichment program, runs from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with additional extended care offered from 5:15 pm to 6:00 pm. Single-day and week-long Adventure Camps are available during parent–teacher conferences and extended school breaks.

Full Enrichment Package

This package includes 5 days of BookEnds Activities (enrichment classes) and 4 weeks of Adventure Camps during school breaks.  Families who choose the year long package will be able to use early enrollment, so students can choose all their preferred classes before they fill up.

Partial Enrichment Package 

This package includes 3 days of BookEnds Activities (enrichment classes) and 2 days of BookEnds Play (games, arts and crafts, or unstructured play) during the week, all year long. It does not include Adventures Camps. This gives parents full year of after-school care options with flexibility to change to accommodate sports and other events.​ ​

Single Enrichment Classes

Students may enroll each session in single BookEnds Activities, or enrichment classes, which run about 10-13 weeks. Registration for this year's upcoming BookEnds sessions run November 1 - 10 (Session 2) and January 31 - February 9 (Session 3). 

Drop-Ins

Drop-in students join BookEnds Play, where they can engage in games, arts and crafts, or unstructured play. Students can be registered as a drop-in as late as noon on any given school day. Use your Veracross Account to sign up. 

Extended Care

Extended care runs from 5:15 pm to 6:00 pm. This additional offering consists of unstructured play and offers an additional window of pick-up time for an added cost.  Please use your Veracross Account to register for Extended Care.
