We All Belong Here

Creating a sense of belonging for our students lays the foundation for a successful year of growth for everyone. In just a matter of two weeks, our lower school walls have gone from nearly blank to filled with colorful and welcoming messages. From students’ recent photos, to fresh self-portraits, and new ideas - teachers across the school honor our students' identities and invite their hopes and dreams into AVS.

Our team’s collective work is centered on academic excellence by cultivating a strong classroom environment from the start. During our community meeting last Friday, I invited students to share their ideas on the broader themes found on the classroom walls and halls, which I’ve compiled in this short video.

I invite our community to join in this exercise and share any comments with me on these big beautiful messages (see below) that our teachers are sending to your children each day.
