Last night, Grades 3–5 parents gathered for an engaging and informative evening hosted by Lower School Head Katie Gibbons, featuring presentations from Head of Middle School Laura Bridges-Pereira and Head of School Rob Cousins.

Laura offered families a vivid glimpse into “a day in the life of a Middle School student”—highlighting the hands-on learning, strong advisory system, and growing independence that define the AVS Middle School experience.

Rob followed with an inspiring look at the remarkable outcomes of our graduates, sharing impressive statistics about independent high school acceptances and strong ERB test performance. (ERBs, or Educational Records Bureau assessments, are nationally normed tests that measure student achievement and reasoning skills across core subjects, offering valuable insight into academic growth and readiness.)

The evening fostered lively discussion, warm community connections, and a shared sense of excitement about the path ahead. Parents left with a clearer picture of how AVS prepares students to thrive academically, socially, and personally—through middle school and beyond.
