AVS Community Members: Priority Consideration

Alta Vista School is deeply committed to our students and families, which includes priority consideration for qualified applicants who are:
-
Alta Vista School faculty and staff children
-
Siblings of Current Students
-
Siblings of Alumni
-
Formerly Enrolled Alta Vista Families
Priority family applicants are considered on a separate, earlier timeline than general admissions. This schedule allows priority families more time to plan and helps the Alta Vista Admissions team provide clear guidance to all applicants.
Please note that participation in the priority admissions process does not guarantee admission. The Admissions Office and Enrollment Management Team work to create balanced classes composed of mission-aligned families who reflect diversity while supporting the school’s budget. Admission decisions consider many factors, including each student’s academic, social, and emotional development, as well as the overall composition and dynamics of the class.
In rare cases, if accepting all qualified priority candidates would conflict with maintaining a balanced and inclusive student body, some priority applicants may be temporarily waitlisted, with final decisions communicated during the regular admissions round.
Families who choose not to participate in the priority deadline are welcome to apply during the regular admissions cycle.
We look forward to working with you!
