Biography

Heather joined Alta Vista School this past February as a fourth-grade long-term substitute teacher and is excited to continue with our team this coming fall. She is an experienced educator with 14 years of experience in making learning accessible and engaging for all students. She has served as a teacher, interventionist, instructional coach, and curriculum specialist, focusing on data-driven strategies and differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs. Passionate about creating equitable learning environments, she is committed to breaking down barriers to learning by developing innovative curriculum, providing targeted support, and fostering a culture of high expectations. She believes that all students can achieve at high levels when given the right tools and encouragement. 

Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, exploring new places, and spending quality time with her family.
