Biography

After briefly working in EdTech, Lara is excited to return to Alta Vista to begin her sixth year as an Aviator. A member of the community since 2017, she is looking forward to nurturing new and strengthening old connections while in the Advancement Department. Lara has served AVS in many capacities, including two years on the administrative team and three years as the fourth-grade science teacher. With a passion for science and education, she is grateful to work at a school that encourages curiosity and never-ending learning. She has additional experience as a middle school science teacher and museum educator. Lara has lived in many parts of the country, including Chicago, North Carolina, and Tahoe, and is thrilled to call San Francisco home once again. You can find her exploring Golden Gate Park, playing board games, attending a lecture, or enjoying a live performance.
