Biography

Rob started his teaching career in his native United Kingdom after graduating from the University of Warwick. He taught upper elementary aged students at public schools in inner city London for eleven years, and during this time also became an Assistant Principal.

He moved to the United States in 2002 to teach 3rd grade at the Packer Collegiate Institute in Brooklyn Heights, New York and in 2006 became the Assistant Head of the Lower School. In 2012 he began his tenure as the Principal of the Ethical Culture School in New York City. He led this Pre-K through 5th Grade school serving 450 students for 12 years before moving to California to become Alta Vista’s third Head of School.

Rob is passionate about the power of hands-on, experiential learning and the ability of education to develop student’s creativity and ignite their passion.
