Other Information
Atreyee Ghosh is a maker with solid roots in handmade art and craft. She grew up in India and moved to the Bay Area in 2012 after receiving a master’s degree in Critical, Conceptual, and Curatorial Practices in Architecture from Columbia University in New York. She has taught students of all ages and varying abilities in the Bay Area since 2015. Her art practice focuses on deriving inspiration from her inner and external worlds. She enjoys drawing, painting, mixed media, and working with fiber arts.
Atreyee’s philosophy for teaching, as well as her personal art practice, is to think outside the box and sometimes veer away from traditional art practices in order to see and appreciate art in everyday life. She aims to have her students gain confidence in using the arts as a form of self-expression and take ownership of the place they occupy in the world. Atreyee brings her enthusiasm, strong design background, and love for fellow humans and the world to every piece of art she makes and every class she teaches. When she is not teaching or making art, Atreyee can be found cuddling her dog, drinking copious amounts of tea, and geocaching with her partner on long road trips.
