Trained as a composer, he strives to find ways for his students to harness their musical creativity to build meaningful experiences for their own personal expression as well as their community. Games, movement, puzzle-solving, musical inventions, improvisation, design thinking, sonic meditations, and happy accidents all make frequent appearances in his classroom. He is thrilled to be a part of Alta Vista’s inspiring and innovative vision for a more creative future.
Since moving to the Bay Area in 2011, he has worked with youth and professional arts organizations alike on projects that combine music composition with educational initiatives and curriculum design. In his spare time he likes to design and code video games, make zines, sew, and enjoy quality time with his wife and son.
