Biography

Kayla was previously a literacy specialist at a public middle school in the Bay Area. Prior to her work as a literacy specialist, Kayla worked as a teacher and literacy interventionist. She worked with her previous district to lead and design multiple professional development opportunities for teachers, participated in curriculum adoption teams, and has even worked closely with the Stanford School of Education to educate Master's students pursuing a career in teaching.

 

Kayla is passionate about making education and learning accessible and equitable while improving the student learning experience through lesson and curriculum design. She is excited to support Alta Vista students in their literacy development and hopes to share her love of language and reading with everyone. When Kayla is not working with students and teachers, she enjoys baking, cooking new recipes, reading, and hanging out with her husband and her bunny, Momo.
