Biography
Sienna joined AVS in 2021 after being a stay-at-home mom for 7 years, and before that, a professional actor. Having grown up in the Bay Area, Sienna is thrilled to be teaching at AVS, the school she wishes she had as a youngster. Supporting the connections between a diverse student body is paramount to Sienna’s teaching. Creating and reinforcing the “ensemble” is a foundation of every year in the Lower School Drama Department. Students will also engage in a rich and compelling curriculum as an arc. From Junior Kindergarten through 5th grade, students will progressively learn and utilize new skills, tools, techniques, and disciplines, such as: Improvisation, Viewpoints, Clowning, Voice Work, Script Analysis, Character Building, Ensemble Building, and more. The curriculum draws from and supports The National Core Arts Theatre Standards, which articulate the knowledge and skills that all students should know. Theatre companies Sienna has worked with include: Seattle Shakespeare Company, ShawChicago Theatre Company, Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, and American Players Theatre. Particularly close to her heart were the productions at Lifeline Theatre KidsSeries, which creates award-winning world-premiere adaptations of children’s literature. Sienna was fortunate to have originated the roles of both “Ostrich” (including the original cast recording) in a musical adaptation of Peter Brown’s “Flight of the Dodo,” and “Prudence” in a musical adaptation of Jon Scieszka’s “The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs!”

Sienna enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, hiking, cooking, and hustling for the next playdate.
