Ms. Isla H. Murphy
GENERAL INFORMATION
After teaching 4th and 5th-grade Math at Alta Vista School, Isla is excited to transition to the role of Middle School Dean of Students. With 8 years of diverse classroom experience in middle school and special education in Canada and the Bay Area, she brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to her new position. Isla is passionate about fostering strong relationships with families and collaborating with colleagues to create a nurturing environment where all students feel valued, understood, and supported. Her commitment to the AVS community as both a faculty member and parent underscores her dedication to student success. Outside of school, Isla enjoys spending time in nature, swimming, building backyard projects, and creating cherished memories with her husband and two children. Isla looks forward to helping students thrive at AVS and beyond.
