Biography

Tira comes to Alta Vista after teaching in a variety of settings including independent schools, charter schools, and public schools where she has experience teaching in grades K-8. Tira has spent many years as a lead teacher. She believes that students learn best by engaging in hands-on activities and encourages children to think beyond basic ideas to explore uncharted territory. Tira believes in building strong personal relationships with her students and gets to know each and every student as an individual. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her dog, trying new restaurants around the city, practicing yoga, and is an avid cat enthusiast.
