Biography
Rhiana has been teaching mathematics for the past 20 years. Her teaching career began as a middle school math educator in Washington, D.C., followed by three years of teaching high school math at The American School in Tokyo, Japan. After her children were born, she began to study how the elementary-aged child learns problem-solving and number sense.
As a math coach, Rhiana’s primary goal is to help students find beauty and meaning in mathematics, not only in a school environment, but at home and in the world. When she is not working with students and teachers, Rhiana enjoys hiking with her dog, Luna, knitting, and traveling with her husband and children, Elana and Maisy.
